📄 Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") cover your use of Binderlyst (the "app"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

They're meant to be read alongside the Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is handled.

🃏 What Binderlyst Is

Binderlyst is a tool for scanning, searching, organising, and reporting on a personal trading card collection. At this point in time it's built for Magic: The Gathering cards. It's intended for your own personal, non-commercial use.

✅ Eligibility

You should be old enough to enter into an agreement in your country before using the app. Binderlyst isn't aimed at children under 13, and Binderlyst doesn't knowingly collect anything from them.

📜 Licence & Fair Use

Binderlyst grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, in line with these Terms and Google Play's Terms of Service. All rights in the app itself, including its code, design, and branding, are reserved.

When using the app, please don't:

• use it for anything unlawful or against these Terms;
• copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app;
• reverse engineer or try to extract the source code, except where the law specifically allows it;
• interfere with the app or the services it relies on, including third-party card databases.

📦 Your Collection & Backups

By default, your collection is stored locally on your device, and no server holds your cards, so they aren't accessible to the developer. You're responsible for your own device and your own backups. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, or losing your device can permanently remove locally stored data, and the developer won't be able to recover it for you.

Binderlyst offers an optional backup to your own Google Drive. This is provided on a best-effort basis and isn't guaranteed: backups may fail, be incomplete, or be unavailable, and the developer can't recover them for you. Data you back up is stored in your own Google Drive and is also subject to Google's terms and privacy policy. You remain responsible for keeping your own copies.

Exporting your collection regularly using the in-app export options is recommended. CSV, Excel and PDF are all supported.

🤝 Community Stats

Binderlyst includes an optional feature that contributes anonymized card details (never your name, account, prices or full collection file) to help produce community insights, such as how often a card appears in decks. It is off by default, only sends data when you switch it on, and turning it off removes your contribution. How it works and exactly what is sent is described in the Privacy Policy.

🏷️ Card Data & Prices

Card names, set details, images, rarities, types and prices come from third parties, including Scryfall, a free and open trading card database. This information is provided for convenience and can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

Prices and values are estimates only. They aren't an offer, a valuation, or a guarantee of what a card can be bought or sold for. Please don't rely on the app as your only source when buying, selling, trading, insuring or valuing cards. Card data and images remain the property of their respective owners.

🛒 Buy Links & Purchases

The app shows links to buy cards and sealed products from third-party retailers, currently TCGplayer. These are affiliate links: if you make a purchase after tapping one, Binderlyst may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. They are marked as such in the app, and you can turn them off in Settings.

Purchases are made directly with the retailer, in your browser, under the retailer's own terms and privacy policy. Binderlyst is not the seller and is not a party to the transaction, and can't help with orders, payments, shipping, returns or refunds. Prices, listings and availability on the retailer's site may differ from what the app shows.

✨ Binderlyst Supporter

Binderlyst is free to use. There is also an optional paid subscription, Binderlyst Supporter, which unlocks premium visual styles: decorative card borders and matching scanner artwork. It is cosmetic only. Scanning, collecting, decks, reports, exports and backups are not behind it, and the free app stays fully functional without it.

Billing. The subscription is sold and billed by Google through Google Play, not by Binderlyst directly. Google is the seller of record and handles payment, tax and invoicing under Google Play's own terms. Binderlyst never sees or stores your payment details.

Renewal and cancellation. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Subscriptions in the Google Play app or on the Play Store website, and there is a link to it in the app's Settings. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

If it ends. When a subscription lapses or is cancelled, the premium styles lock again and the app returns to one of the free styles. Nothing else changes: your collection, decks, reports and backups are untouched.

New styles. While your subscription is active, you get every premium style released during it at no extra cost. New styles are added as they are made. There is no promised number or schedule. The subscription buys access to the styles that exist while it is running, not a commitment to produce more.

If you already had these styles. The premium styles were free to everyone before the subscription existed, so nobody loses one they were already using. The check ran once, when you updated to the version that introduced the subscription (1.0.35), and it looked at the style you had switched on at that moment. If that was one of the three, all three are yours permanently and you never need to subscribe, and switching to a free look afterwards does not lose it. If you had tried one earlier but were back on a free look by then, it does not apply.

Previews. Each locked style can be previewed once, for ten minutes, so you can see it in the app before deciding. A preview is one per style and once only, it ends by itself, and it costs nothing. A preview is not a subscription.

Refunds and price changes. Refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play refund policy. This doesn't affect your statutory rights, including any right to cancel a recent purchase under consumer law where that applies to you. If the price changes, Google will notify you and ask you to confirm before it takes effect.

Those materials belong to their respective owners and are used only to help you identify and manage cards you already own.

Binderlyst participates in TCGplayer's affiliate programme, but is not otherwise connected to, endorsed by, or operated by TCGplayer.

Binderlyst is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. There is no guarantee that the app will always be available, error-free or secure, that scanning and recognition will be accurate, that card data and prices will be correct or current, or that backups will always succeed or be recoverable.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the developer won't be liable for any loss of data, value, profit or opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app, including any decisions made based on what the app shows you. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that can't be excluded under applicable law.

🔄 Changes & Ending Use

Binderlyst is new and actively being developed, so features may be added, changed, or removed, and these Terms may be updated from time to time. If they change, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated Terms.

You can stop using Binderlyst at any time by uninstalling it. Access may also be suspended if the app is misused or these Terms are breached.

⚖️ Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes fall under the courts of England and Wales. This doesn't affect any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
